A few changes have been implemented that regular users will notice. Here are the highlights::

  • Licenses each have a “License Status” which better reflects the current status of the license in relation to the expiration date, active status and any applicable adverse actions.
  • New maps for RN and LPN/VN (PN) nurses now provide a visual overview of the Nursys participating states where that nurse currently has authorization to practice. This will be especially useful in the coming months as the states implement the new Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact.
  • Nursys e-Notify will send notifications when the new “License Status” of an enrolled license changes. Examples would be when a license expires or when a probation ends.

One of the requirements to endorse into another state is verification of original, current and/or previous licensure depending on the licensing requirements of the state. Since each board of nursing has different requirements, you should contact the board of nursing to request application information.

  • If you are requesting license verification for endorsement for license(s) from a Nursys Nurse License Verification for Endorsement participating board of nursing, select the Request Verification button on the home page and complete the online license verification for endorsement process.
  • If you require license verification for endorsement for any license(s) from a jurisdiction that does not participate, contact that board of nursing to request license verification for endorsement.
Once this process is complete and the fee is paid, verification for endorsement is available immediately to the jurisdiction(s) you selected.
