Is Nursys e-Notify primary source information?

The information you will receive from e-Notify is pulled directly from Nursys, the only national database for licensure, discipline and practice privileges for RNs and LPN/VNs. Nursys data is compiled from information directly inputted from boards of nursing and is primary source equivalent.

How do I enroll a nurse? What information do I need?

Enrolling your nurses is easy. First, you need his/her license number, license type and the state(s) that issued the license. This information is used to locate the nurse directly from Nursys. Then, you add other information to their profile, including nursing specialty, email and address. For employment verification purposes, you will be required to enter the last four digits of the nurse's social security number and date of birth. You can also add the nurse's cell phone number if you choose to have the system send automatic license expiration reminders on your behalf.

Can I upload several nurses into the system at once?

Yes you can. With bulk upload, you can add multiple nurses into e-Notify by using a file. Specifications and sample files are available to help make this process seamless.

- Discipline against privilege to practice (PTP)

What is Licensure QuickConfirm and how does the process work?

Licensure QuickConfirm is an online tool used by employer groups and the public to look up nurse licenses.

Employer groups and/or the general public will access Nursys and complete the Licensure QuickConfirm process to receive a detailed Licensure QuickConfirm Report.

Only licenses from Nursys Licensure QuickConfirm Boards of Nursing are available.

This service is free of charge to employers and the public.

Providing you are a nurse applying for a license within the U.S or its territories and hold/held a license(s) from a participating board of nursing, you may access Nursys to verify your license.

Who is not eligible to use Nursys for Nurse License Verification?

If one or more of these statements apply, you may not use Nursys for Nurse License Verification.

You are applying for a license outside the U.S. or its territories.
Please contact your board to request verification to be sent to any other agencies.

You are requesting license verification from one or more states not on the list.

You need verification for one of the following:

- Visa Screen
- Advanced Practice (APRN)
- Case Manager Certification

How do I use Nursys to verify my license?

Before you begin the online Nurse License Verification process, you must request a license application packet from the new state. Contact the board of nursing to request an application packet or view the specific requirements.

What is the fee for Nurse License Verification?

The fee to verify a license(s) is $30.00 per license type for each state being endorsed into.
